Rocketeers on campus

Students from Space & Space Travel (ESS 102) successfully launched their water rockets on the main UW campus this week, with the goal of returning their intrepid “eggonauts” safely to earth.

The course, which explores the science and engineering that surrounds manned space exploration, is offered at UW and North Seattle Community College. As part of the course, each team of three to four students designs and constructs a water rocket that will carry an egg up to 100 feet into the air and return it undamaged to the Earth.

The video shows some of the launches from March 5.
