WSOS applications now open

Attention Space Grant scholars and other undergraduates statewide, applications are now open for the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (WSOS).

WSOS supports low- to middle-income students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, math or health care (check here for a list of high demand majors)

Only students who have graduated from a Washington state high school and are freshman, sophomores or juniors at an eligible Washington college or university can receive these awards. The list of eligible schools includes most Washington NASA Space Grant Consortium members and partners.

Scholarship recipients will receive a $1,000 award, which is renewable for up to four years. Once WSOS scholars gain junior standing, they may apply to increase their award to $5,000.

Check out the video above to learn how WSOS awards allowed scholars to focus solely on their studies, a freedom which encourages innovation and creativity

Applications are due February 24, 2014. For more information, visit the WSOS scholarship page.
